Giving Opportunities

As God’s people, the members and friends of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church have been endowed with abundant gifts. For more than 135 years,
these gifts have been shared and used in different ways in offering a variety of
local and church-wide ministries. Like the early Church in Corinth, the people
at St. Paul’s have been guided by the Apostle Paul’s writings found in 2
Corinthians 8 and 9. Members are encouraged to joyfully give according to their
own means. As God has blessed us, so we give. The
comprehensive stewardship program at St. Paul’s includes four general
categories:
- Congregation’s current operating and benevolence budget
- Designated ministries/funds - Building, Organ, WAFER,
World Hunger,
ELCA,
LSS,
Habitat for Humanity, etc.
- Periodic capital campaigns – new furnace, elevator, roof, etc.
- Endowment fund or planned giving – establish your legacy for future
generations.
All gifts are gratefully appreciated. Members of St.
Paul’s are mailed envelopes on a monthly basis. Friends are encouraged to
request envelopes. The frequency of giving is a personal decision. For members
and friends who are unable to make regular tithes and offerings, or may be gone
for the winter, an automated deduction option called “Simply Giving” is
available. Forms and envelopes are available in the church office. God loves a
cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
The practice of committing a percentage of our income to
God’s work is a tangible way of acknowledging and showing our faith in the
Gospel. Consider joining St. Paul’s Congregation in providing a wide range
of intergenerational worship, education, music, service and social ministries
for the people of La Crosse. We invite you to prayerfully consider making
a special gift to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. To include St. Paul’s in
your will or estate plan, talk to your personal attorney and the pastor.
Jesus described the spiritual connection between a person’s money and God in
saying: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. Luke 12:34
