Committees

Adult Education
The Adult Education Committee works to deepen the faith and commitment of all of St. Paul’s members and
nurture new members into the life of the congregation.

Building and Grounds
Charged with overseeing the physical building and grounds, this group of
members develops and maintains a schedule for repair and maintenance of the
church building, lawn care, snow removal and landscaping. They also
purchase and maintain all equipment used in maintenance and work with
volunteers, church staff and contractors to accomplish their duties.
Chancel Care
The members of the Chancel Care Committee care for the physical worship
space and all the materials needed for worship services. They prepare the
church for communion, baptisms and funerals, facilitate the audio ministry,
decorate the sanctuary and narthex throughout the year, organize and maintain
the worship properties including banners, linens, alter cloths and more.
In addition this group plans and conducts the annual Picnic Worship and the
Ascension Day service.

Communications
Communicates timely information to the members and organizations of St.
Paul’s and to the extended community of La Crosse regarding the programs and
activities of this church. In doing so, they work to ensure that the purpose of
the mission, our core values, and vision
path of our congregation is met.

Congregational
Life
This committee works to improve St.
Paul's hospitality and response evangelism by greeting and acknowledging
visitors before and after worship services, making follow-up contacts with
visitors, assuring an inviting building and grounds and coordinating nursery
staff for both visitors and members. In addition it is this committee's
goal to nurture new members into the life of St. Paul's and to deepen the faith
and commitment of all members through many activities including new
member shepherding, recognitions, receptions, and orientation. The
Congregational Life Committee also coordinates, plans and publicizes
events including church celebrations such as milestone anniversaries, building projects,
and the achievement of Covenant of Transformation goals. Other projects they
oversee include birthday cards, and baptismal
quilts, weekly congregational prayer support, home-bound communion as well as
fellowship and social activities such as weekly breakfasts, river
cruises, theater outings, and game nights, Rally Sunday, and Friendship Sunday.

Intentional Outreach
Focused on reaching out to neighbors with an invitation to faith,
community and discipleship, the Intentional Outreach Committee carefully trains
their Calling Team to make individual contacts and greet neighbors in our
community, as they share their own faith stories. Additionally this
committee reviews the worship service and current ministries to ensure the needs of
newcomers and the needs of our community are met.

Social Concerns and Global Outreach
This Committee's overall goal is to educate, promote, and elicit support for
missions that serve the needy, both domestically and worldwide. We are
commanded, inspired, and motivated to action by these scripture passages:
Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17
If you do away with the yoke of oppression...and if you spend yourselves
in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your
light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the
noonday. Isaiah 58:0-10
Committee members promote one or two missions per month, using displays,
temple talks, speakers at adult education, worship bulletin and newsletter
articles, and other means to accomplish the goals.

Stewardship and Finance Responsible for managing the assets of St. Paul's and developing an annual
operating budget, the Stewardship and Finance Committee also develops and
conducts programs to educate the congregation members on the responsibility for
stewardship.
 Sunday School
The Sunday School Committee organizes, staffs, and conducts a Sunday School
program for children ages two through sixth grade. They also prepare
additional events for Sunday School children such as the
Easter celebration, Hayride roundup, Mother’s Day recognition, Fall
Family Festival, Youth Sunday, Christmas Program, Dedication Service, and
Vacation Bible School.

Worship
The Worship Committee is primarily responsible for the design of our worship
services including hymn selection, proposing new ideas for worship services, and
developing the elements and tools necessary to ensure meaningful services, both
traditional and contemporary. Periodically this team appraises our worship
services and materials through the eyes of visitors to maintain a welcoming and
friendly worship service.

Youth and Family
This committee plans and implements educational and developmental programs
for St. Paul’s youth and family ministry, and supports the confirmation program
