Social Concerns and Global Outreach
This Committee's overall goal is to educate, promote, and elicit support for missions that serve the needy, both domestically and worldwide.  We are commanded, inspired, and motivated to action by these scripture passages:

Seek justice, encourage the oppressed.  Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.  Isaiah 1:17

If you do away with the yoke of oppression...and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.  Isaiah 58:0-10

Committee members promote one or two missions per month, using displays, temple talks, speakers at adult education, worship bulletin and newsletter articles, and other means to accomplish the goals.
